Teacher Comment:
Thanks Joe, your Science Fair Project was easy to read and followed the correct structure. It was pleasing to see that you have included some research that backs up your findings, this adds more weight to your conclusion.
Student Comment:
This year I found science fair much easier and thought I would be better off trying to get it finished on time not like last time when I had to do it all on the last day. Also thought it would be good to do it all by myself with out any help by mum and dad.

Who’s faster girls or boys?
Introduction: My topic is, on average who is faster girls or boys over 100 metres? I chose this topic because I wanted to know who is faster girls or boys because girls alway’s say that they are faster than us boy’s and I want to prove them wrong.
So in doing that I have done tests and made some girls and boys run 100 metres to try and work out who is faster and why they are faster?
Aim: To find out on average who is faster girls or boys over 100 metres?
Hypothesis: I think that boys will be faster than girls because we like to run more.
Materials:
Stopwatch
14 boys
14 girls
100m running track
Method:
Get 14 boys and girls.
Get them to run the 100 metre track one at a time.
Record the times.
Then put the recorded times into a graph so you can see the results.
Results:
I found out that boys can run faster than girls by 5.8% which is 1 second faster, as a result of this I can now prove that boys are faster than girls.

Conclusion:
My hypothesis was right because boys are 5.8% faster than girls. From research I have found out why boys are faster than girls, boys are faster than girls because they have bigger muscles which makes them faster than the average girl. Having bigger muscles will improve your speed. Power but if they are to big and heavy they will slow you down.
Joe, good start to Science Fair it will be interesting to see your results. Start your testing Today! Remember to record your results accurately & take photographs.

Joe are there any other tests you can do that may explain why boys or girls are faster e.g. length of legs or height or heart rate etc
